PATRINGTON WESTGATE TA 3022-3122 (north side) 15/58 No 10 (Green Farmhouse) and range adjoining to left GV II

Farmhouse and stable/granary adjoining to left, now partly incorporated in house. Mid-late C18 with later alterations. Red brick, colour-washed to front, rendered to gable ends of house. Pantile roofs. 2-room; central entrance-hall plan to house, with kitchen and stable/granary range set forward to left, and later outshuts to rear. Main range: 2 storeys, 3 bays; symmetrical. C20 part-glazed door and plain overlight in architrave beneath segmental stretcher arch. 4-pane sashes in C18 flush wooden architraves with sills below similar arches. Stepped eaves, wooden eaves board. Stone- coped gables, with shaped kneeler to right. End brick stacks. Range to left: single storey and attic, 2 windows. 16-pane sash to right in flush wooden architrave beneath segmental header arch, small 4-pane casement to left in blocked basket-arched opening; 2 small breathers at first floor level; 2 blocked hatches to attic floor; brick-coped gable to left, tumbled- in brick to right gable; raking dormer to rear. Interior. Entrance hall has 6-fielded-panel doors in eared and shouldered architraves, good late C17 open well staircase with pulvino corniced string, corniced handrail, bulb- on-urn balusters and plain newels with profile balusters, ball finials and pendant drops. Ovolo-chamfered spine beam to ground floor left. Flagstone floor to stable. The staircase is similar to that at Southside Farmhouse, Southside (qv). Adjoining stable ranges to rear right are of no special interest.
