Details
PATRINGTON ENHOLMES TA 32 SW 7/37 Stable range approximately 30 metres west of cart-shed/granary 1-10-86 range at Enholmes Farm GV II Stables and butcher's shop. 1849 for William Marshall. Orange-brown brick with orange rubbed-brick dressings. Pantile roof. U-shaped on plan, with central west-facing courtyard and butcher's shop in north-west corner. Stands between cart-shed/granary and cattle house range (qv). Single storey, with higher single-storey butcher's shop to north-east corner. East side, 3 openings: a central round-headed opening, inserted doors beneath timber lintels to each side, that to butcher's shop cutting a blocked segmental-arched opening. Hipped roofs. North side: 3 segmental-headed windows, inserted door to right. Courtyard: east range has central round- headed opening flanked by pair of doors to left, and door, window and wider doorway to right; north and south ranges each have 2 doors and 5 windows; all openings with segmental arches. Stalls removed in C20. Disused at time of resurvey. Part of a large early industrial farm. See item 7/35 for sources.
