PATRINGTON HIGH STREET TA 3022-3122 (north side) 15/44 Holderness Inn - II

Inn. Early C18 with later alterations. Brick, stuccoed and incised in imitation of ashlar. Pantile roof. Double-depth plan, originally with 2- room, central entrance-hall south front (hall now open to left room). 2 storeys with attic, 5 bays with wide central bay; symmetrical. Recessed 6- fielded-panel door and plain overlight in wooden architrave beneath channelled stucco flat arch, flanked by narrow side windows with flush wooden architraves and C20 glazing. Two C19 canted bay windows to left with plate-glass sashes and pilasters carrying entablature with bracketed eaves; single similar bay window to right. First floor: pair of narrow sashes to central bay, 4-pane sashes to side bays, in flush wooden archtraves with sills and channelled stucco flat arches. Moulded wooden eaves board. Double span roof. Rendered end stacks. Attic hatch to right gable end. Interior: ground floor front right room has original dentilled plaster cornice, plasterwork ceiling rose with acanthus leaves and foliate border, pair of half-domed alcoves flanking chimney with raised imposts and keys to archivolts.
