Circa 1740, by William Wrightson. 2 storeys and attics in red brick with steep
slated roof with 3 pedimented dormers. Ogee bracketed eaves cornice. 5 sash
windows to 1st floor with glazing bars. 2 windows on ground floor and shop front
with wood case, carved pilasters with paterae, dentil cornice, and entablature.
1st floor band. 6-panel door with traceried fanlight, wood doorcase with
consoles. Stone-flagged entrance hall with white limestone dots. Staircase
pseudo-cantilevered, open string, moulded handrail ramped to fluted columnar
newels, alternately twisted balusters, fielded panelling to dado. Late C18 or
early C19 chimneypiece, in situ (provenance unknown).
