II

Row of 3 cottages. Late C19. Red brick to ground floor with timber-framing to first floor left and ornamental tile hanging to first floor right. Plain tiles to roof. Planned as 'hall' range with two cross wings and additional lower projecting wings with hipped roofs to extreme ends. 2 storeys, 6 bays. Ground floor; breaks forward under pentice roof to 'hall' range with balustered porch to right and paired 8-pane sashes, with splayed sills, under segmental gauged brick arches to left. Similar windows to cross- wings. Smaller projecting wings have boarded doors with balustered panels to left and right. First floor: 3 sliding sashes with glazing bars to 'hall' range. Left cross-wing has corbels to moulded bressumer of jettied upper storey and paired casement windows with glazing bars. Projecting gable over with king-post truss with raking struts in herringbone pattern. Barge-boards on shaped brackets. Right cross wing has tripartite sash with glazing bars: tile-hung throughout. Bargeboards on shaped brackets. Projecting wings at ends are timber-framed to left, tile-hung to right, each with a corner window with glazing-bars. Axial stacks, with cornices with blue brick bands, to 'hall' range.
