2. Two cottages, the earlier of C16 date. Possibly 1520. Two storeys timber framed refaced in red brick in the C18. Steeply-pitched hipped tiled roof. Three windows, casements except for one sash with galzing bare intact. Modern gabled porch. Modern addition behind. Called from 1582 until late this century Poors Farm. The owner John Taylor in his will of 1581 left the dwelling and the land about it "to relieve the poor". The old name derived from this and the building remained in Trust ownership until 1938.
