HORSMONDEN MAIDSTONE ROAD TQ 74 SW (east side) 1/78 Bennets House GV II

House. C17 or earlier, altered and extended late C19-C20. Timber framed and clad and extended with red brick onground floor and tile hung first floor with some exposed applied frame. Plain tiled roof. Two storeys and garret with single storey wings, the centre block the original building, gable end to road, with 2 hipped 2 storey wings to right and with central gable with bargeboards and pendant, stacks to centre and to right and at end left and end right. Three light wooden casement in gable, with sashed oriel and canted bay below. Three light wooden casement to right on first floor and 3 light oriels to left and to right in single storey wings. Half glazed door to centre right with flat hood on brackets. The rear roof of the main block is half-hipped with a marked gablet. Attached to right rear a single storey outhouse range with 3 wooden casements, boarded door and carriage doors in right return.
