Details
HAWKHURST HIGH STREET TQ 7430-7530 (north side) 16/343 Nos 1, 2 and 3 Iddenden Cottages 20.6.67 GV II House pair, now 3 cottages. Early C18 extended C19. Timber framed and weather- boarded, with ground floor of red brick. Plain tiled roof. Two storeys and garret, with half-hipped roof and central stack. Regular fenestration of 5 metal casements on first floor and 4 on ground floor, with paired boarded doors to centre under single gabled hood on brackets. Boarded door and single storey gabled extension to right return. Mid C19 weather-boarded rear wing, of 2 storeys, with end stack, 2 wooden casements on each floor and central half-glazed door in gabled porch. The wing interrupts catslide outshot to main range. A very similar and roughly contemporary build (in the earlier phase) to Nos 4 and 5 Iddenden Cottages adjacent.
