CRANBROOK GLASSENBURY ROAD TQ 73 NW (west side) 2/108 Little Glassenbury 20.6.67 - II
House and barn now house, connected by short wing. HOUSE: C17, clad in C18. Timber-framed on red brick plinth and tile hung, with red and blue brick ground floor to centre and left. Plain tiled roof half hipped to right with deep over hanging eaves to half-hip. 2 storeys with tall brick ridge stack to right of centre and end stack to left. Irregular fenestration of 3 windows on first floor and 5 windows on ground floor. C18 wood framed lattice casements. Central boarded doubled doors with C18 flat hood over. Long stepped C20 extension, single storey to front, 2 storeys behind, at left end connecting with converted barn. Long catslide to right and half-hipped gable end project- ing above to left. Interior: Heavy framing including heavily jowled posts. Very wide stack. Side purlin roof. BARN TO LEFT: C17 with C18 addition. Timber framed with red brick and tile cladding with some exposed framing to south. Interior: 5 bays. Jowled posts carrying curved braces on walls. Roof enclosed.
