Details
RAMSGATE LIVERPOOL LAWN TR 3864 NW (east side) 13/248 Nos. 24 to 33 3 13.8.68 GV II Terrace row. 1827-36. Stock brick with slate roof. Three storeys and basement with parapet and stacks ranged left to right. Ten window bays in all, the 2nd floor with small square glazing bar sashes with cambered heads, some replacement windows, and nos. 31, 32 and 33 with inappropriate 3 light casement replacements. Glazing bar sashes, some replaced, in 1st floor, and 2 tripartite bows to left (nos. 24 + 25), and 8 canted bays with projecting cornices on ground floor. Variety of panelled and half glazed doors to right of bows or bays, with semi- circular fanlights in gauged surrounds, with 2 steps each. No. 24 is entered by plank and stud door with fluted columned jambs in canted corner section, with blocked round headed and gauged window space over, the door space to right of the first bow being blocked. Variety of basement openings and railings and fences to basement areas. Left return with flint to ground floor with lancet windows to each floor, reflecting the fenestration and materials of Grace Cottage opposite (item 13/247 ). Known as Liverpool Place until the whole square was renamed Liverpool Lawn in 1867. (See Busson, Ramsgate 109).
