Details
RAMSGATE BELLEVUE ROAD TR 3865 SE (west side) 10/58 Nos. 38, 40, 42 and 44 and railed 13.8.68 areas GV II Terrace Row. 1840's. Stock brick and slate roof. Three storeys and basement with cill bands and cornice stepped up to No. 44. Two glazing bar sashes to each house unit on 2nd floor (are in No. 40 replaced), 8 bays in all. Shallow bows on first floor with mullions and transoms, and with tented verandah with latticed valancing, simple piers and heart and honeysuckle rails. Bows on ground floor with Ionic pilasters and star traceried upper lights. Doors of 6 moulded panels with fluted Doric quarter columns and flights of 3 steps. Glazing bar sashes to basement. Spear head rails to Area. Very similar in design to the terrace rows in Augusta Road, to which this terrace forms a visual stop. (See item 10/53).
