Part of the house dates from circa 1300 and consisted of an open hall with service wing and solar above. A wing was added in 1537 and there have been more recent alterations. Timber-framed building with some C16 herringbone pattern brick nogging to the south-west and overhang but mostly refaced with red brick and flints in C18. Hipped tiled roof with C16 chimneystack. Two storeys. Four casements. Modern door. L wing added behind in flints and brick. The interior contains two inglenook fireplaces of 1537, the entrances for pantry and buttery and roof of circa 1300 mainly intact, of tie beams and collar construction.
Graded for interior features.
Originally called Handville Green as it was the residence of the Handville family.
