SEVENOAKS KIPPINGTON ROAD TQ 55 SW 4/161 No. 142 (Three Elms) II
House. Built by Baillie Scott & Beresford in 1923 for D L Wallis, who may be the Wallis of the builder who married Baillie Scott's daughter. L-shaped building. Painted brick with renewed hipped tiled roof with 2 brick chimneystacks. 2 storeys; 5 windows. Casements with leaded lights. Half hipped roof to left hand side. Hipped porch. Right side partially tile hung. Rear elevation resembles refaced Wealden house with projecting tile hung wing and recessed centre with bracket and 2 storey canted bay. Interior has entrance hall with balustered staircase with finials Living room has large fireplace with Delft tiles and built in cupboard. Spine beam with runout stop. Parlour has Neo-Georgian style fire surround and panetting. [See Homes and Gardens September 1924 for an illustrated article].
