Details
RAMSGATE VALE SQUARE TR 3764 NE (south side) 12/399 No. 47 (Tancrey House) GV II House. Late 1840's. Brick, rendered and painted on return elevations. Slate roof. Three storeys and basement with horizontally rusticated base, cornices to each storey, rusticated quoins and cornice parapet to roof with stacks projecting at end left and at end right. Two margin light sashes on each floor with lugged and pediment-gable shaped surround with cast iron balconettes on masonry brackets. The windows are progressively smaller from ground floor upwards. Moulded enrichment to basement. Double semi-circular headed panelled doors with rectangular fanlight in small porch on left return with heavy cornice over, at head of 6 steps with side wall. Included for group value. Part of J.C. Eddel's development of Vale Square (see item 12/389).
