Details
RAMSGATE ST. AUGUSTINE'S ROAD TR 3764 SE (South side) 18/367 St. Edwards 23.6.86 GV I House, now convent. Dated 1849, by Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin. Pebble flint with brick and stone dressings and fish scale tiled roof. Two storey and attics arranged as 2 gables onto road with pendant bargeboards and central stack. Two light cusped gable openings, 4 bay mullioned and transomed oriel to left and 2 light with label hood to right on 1st floor. 2 light window to right on ground floor and boarded four centred arched door to left with 3 light sidelight, and stack, to left inscribed in Gothic script: St. Edwards, to right: 1 4 . Right return with 2 storey closet projection; returned 8 AD 9 verandah with external staircase and bay window at east, probably by Edward Welby Pugin. Built as the priest's house attached to St. Augustine's Church. (St. Augustine's guide).
