2/135 Scragged Oak Farmhouse II
House. Mid C17. Timber-framed with rendered infilling, left gable end weatherboarded. Plain tile roof. 2 storeys. Symmetrical front of 3 timber-framed bays with 8 full-height posts; one at each end, one half way across each end bay, one either side of the central bay, and, within the central bay, one about one foot from the posts at either end of it. 2 tension braces to each end bay on first floor, curving towards centre of building; one to the half bay post and one to the end post of the central bay on each side. Relatively closely-spaced studs of slight scantling. Roof hipped at left end. Stack in front slope of roof toleft end of central bay. C20 panelled door in C20 brick porch at left gable end. Rear brick lean-to at right end and timber-framed lean-to with flint extension at left end. Concrete Datestone in C20 brick gable end, to right, 1655. Interior: Exposed beams and posts. Tie-beams formerly braced. Roof with raked queen-posts or struts partially exposed.
