Details

ROCHESTER HIGH STREET TQ 7567 NW 13/166 Nos 373, 375 and 377 GV II Row of three houses, now united at ground level as shops. C18, perhaps c.1600 build at east. Stucco render on brick. 3 storeys. Front: 7 window range (3:2:2). Nos 375, 377 at east each have 2 12 pane first floor and 2 9 pane second floor sash windows with glazing bars. No 373 at west has 3 first - and second floor windows: 2 outer 16-pane and one central 12-pane sash to first floor, 2 outer 12-pane, and the central 9-pane sash to second floor, all with glazing bars. Rusticated pilaster strips divide each bay to No 373 and between each double bay to Nos 375 and 377. Architrave surrounds to windows. Parapet conceals three different roof structures: with end gable and ridge parallel to facade to No 377, hipped at right angles to facade at No 375 and No 373. Ground floor replaced by C20 shop fronts. Interior: No 377 has single ground floor chamber with 4 stopped and chamfered girder beams with deep set joists, suggesting the incorporation of a build of c.1600. Other interiors not seen.
