II
Private Tollhouse, now two houses. Dated 1835 on datestone over entrance to No.2, later alterations and late C19 extension to North. Limewashed rubble walls, partly roughcast; graduated green slate roof; single chimney stack at ridge and larger stack at eaves. 2 storeys plus attic. East elevation has 3 doors and 3 windows from left to right as follows: boarded and studded door in false four-centred arch under pitched slate porch; similar door with oblong fanlight and C19 casement under continuous hood mould; C19 cross window with single iron opening casement; C20 door under slate drip; late C19 casement. 2 C19 cross windows and one late C19 sash above; small attic window with triangular head and hoodmould. Bay window with gothic tracery and iron opening casement in south elevation; blank shield in west side. Gatepost for tollgate on East side.
