22/17 Beckgate Head, 12.2.62 attached barn, and Gatesgarth (formerly listed as Cottage attached to Beckgate Head)

2 houses and barn. Probably C18. Stone rubble, house part roughcast, with slate roof. West facade of 2 storeys and 3 bays. Windows are sashed with glazing bars, that to central bay of 1st floor is narrow. Entrance to central bay has gabled porch with arched-opening, now glazed, and 6-panel inner door. Barn to left breaks forward; quoins. Segmental-headed barn entrance with arch and pivoted doors; flanking cow-house entrances. Cross-axial stack and gable-end stack. South facade has wide verges to gable and part of former corbelled stack; sashed window. Gatesgarth is recessed to right, of 4 irregular bays. Windows are sashed with vertical glazing bars and horns. 2 to ground floor have dripstones. Entrance to 3rd bay has gabled porch and segmental arched opening and benches; narrow stair window to left. Interior not inspected.
