Details
MEATHOP AND ULPHA MEATHOP SD 48 SW 5/38 Meathop Hall and 21.11.52 cottage II
House, now 2 houses. Late C17 with later additions. Stone rubble with slate roofs. North elevation of 2 storeys with attic and 4 bays with 2-storey, 2-bay extension to each end. Decorative bargeboards. 2-light double-chamfered- mullioned windows, but 1st bay of ground floor has C19 bay window. Attic has gabled dormers to 1st 3 bays, 3-light windows, the central lights higher. Entrance has embattled lintel and studded door with planted battens and original latch. Gable-end stacks with rounded shafts. Extension to east has windows with fixed glazing and opening lights; entrance with C20 glazed porch; gable-end stack with rounded shafts. Extension to west, now cottage, has casement windows and entrance in porch. Large projecting gable-end stack has rounded shafts. Rear has outshut under catslide roof; small gabled wing to west has 2 entrances to north.
