Details

BROUGHTON EAST FIELD BROUGHTON SD 38 SE 2/11 Stonelands and adjoining outbuilding II House and outbuilding. Spice cupboard dated 1708. Stone rubble with slobbered mortar and slate roof. 2 storeys and 3 bays. 2 windows to 1st bay of ground floor have stone lintels; 2 windows to 2nd bay, one with flat arch with rubble voussoirs. Windows have small-paned casements, 3 to ground floor have opening lights, one to 1st floor of 3 lights, the others C20 top hung casements. Entrance has half-glazed door and C20 open timber on roughcast brick porch. Stack to left angle and gable-end stack. Right return to street of 2 bays, the 1st gabled; weathered buttress and 4 casement windows; gable-end stack. Outbuilding projects to right with paired doors. Left return rendered; attic window. Interior has ovolo beams. Spice cupboard door has initials date and decorative panel; wide boarded door. Stair has square newels and moulded handrail, no balusters (possibly splat form). 1st floor has plank and muntin partitioning and 2-panel doors.
