4/47 Townend Farmhouse and attached outbuilding 21.2.62 now part of house II
Farmhouse and former outbuilding now taken into house. C18 with later alterations. Rubble, limestone dressings, house colour-washed; greenslate roof with stone ridge. Original house: 2 storeys; 3 windows, C19 sashes with vertical glazing bars; 8-panelled door under central wide gabled porch with side benches; 2 end chimneys, copings and kneelers. Converted outbuilding has waggon doors in segmental-arched opening with limestone voussoirs, board door to left and C20 door to left of that;and top-glazed door to right of waggon doors,all with dressed limestone lintels. 3 C20 windows to upper floor; finial on right-hand gable. Outbuilding included for group value.
