House, now guest house. c1642, altered in C19, restored in 1980s. Coursed
limestone rubble with gritstone dressings and large quoins. Ground and first
floor moulded drip bands. Slate roof with stone ridge. Stone coped gables with
moulded kneelers, Massive stone central ridge stack with moulded bands. Two
storeys plus attics, two bay front. Baffle entrance plan. Tall projecting
staircase turret to rear. South east elevation - off-centre doorcase with
massive rusticated quoining. Plank door. To north, 4-light chamfered mullion
window with segmental headed lights and central major mullion. Remains of similar
window to south but blocked in and replaced by glazing bar sash in flush surround.
Above, to north, 6-light window, similar to that below and similar 4-light window
to south. All mullion windows have central iron bars and leaded lights, probably
C20. To north, corner lead gutter with hopper head of 1743. North and south
elevations have similar segmental arched 2-light windows. Interior - oak panel
baffle on entry. Fireplace lintel dated 1642. Stone flagged rooms. Original
stone stairs in rear stair turret.
