SK 16 SE PARISH OF HARTINGTON NETHER QUARTER BUXTON ROAD 8/92 (West Side) Stableblock and coach- house to north-west of Newhaven House Hotel GV II
Hotel stableblock and coach house, now farm buildings. c1795, built for Duke of Devonshire. Rendered limestone rubble with gritstone dressings and quoins. Hipped slate roof with lead flashings. Stone coped gable. Five bays, two storeys. Slightly advanced central, gabled bay with central semi circular archway, blocked above impost level and divided below by square pier. To either side, quoined doorcases. String- course at impost level. To north and south of central bay, double quoined doorcases with single windows beyond. Above, two hayloft openings in flush surrounds to either side. Quoined doorcase and single light window in blocked section ofcentral arch.
