Wiltshire Villa and Minton
House Hotel

Two houses, now partly converted into restaurant. 1894. Tooled, coursed, squared
gritstone with gritstone dressings. Plain tile roof. Stone coped gables with plain
kneelers. Moulded first floor sill band. Tall ashlar gable end stacks with moulded
cornices. Two storeys plus attics, three bays. North elevation - central mullioned
and transomed stained glass stairwell window through two storeys. To either side,
chamfered doorcases with narrow flat hoodsover. Lintels inscribed 'JWB/1894'.
Panelled doors with stained glass panels in tops. Beyond the doors symmetrically
placed, three storey canted bay windows with windows on three sides. Ground floor
windows have ogee tracery to lower panes and small paned tops. Glazing bar sashes
to bay windows. Above, plain stringcourse only on bay window at all levels, with
Venetian window to front and glazing bar sashes to sides. Gabled tops of bay
window project beyond the roof. Included for group value only.
