Details

SK 07 SE PARISH OF GREEN FAIRFIELD 6/4 Pictor Hall GV II

House. Late C18, with mid-C19 additions and alterations, but incorporating C17 remnants. Roughcast rubble limestone and ashlar gritstone, with quoins, coped gables, intermediate and end ashlar ridge stacks, each with diagonally set twin chimneys. Stone slated roof. Irregular double pile plan, with pediment to centre of main range, and canted two storey bay to crosswing added to south west end, with hipped roof. Two storeys, five bays with canted bay rising above main range, which has glazing bar sashes in flush stone frames, the two centre bays beneath the pediment. Quoined doorway to the south west of the pediment with shallow bracketed canopy above. Canted bay with tall glazing bar sashes sitting on projecting cill bands to both floors. Roll moulding as stringcourse above lintels to ground floor openings, and projecting bandcourse above first floor window heads. Bracketed projecting eaves to hipped roof. Interior: 4-light C17 hollow chamfered mullioned window to spine wall of double pile range, good C19 turned baluster staircase and shutters to reveals of sash windows.
