PARISH OF LONG EATON COLLEGE STREET SK 43 SE 4/18 (West Side) Christ Church Sunday School GV II
Sunday school. c1903, probably by Brewell and Bailey. Red brick with brick and terracotta dressings. Slate roof with large brick ridge stacks and brick coped gables on plain kneelers. Two storeys and eight bays. North elevation has three tall cross windows with leaded lights to west with advanced doorcase to east. This has a large bracketed, moulded hood with curved head, over original panelled doors. Beyond to east is a 3-light transomed window, also with leaded lights and two similar tall cross windows, plus a smaller 2-light window to extreme east of the building. Above there is a tall gable to either end of the building, each has three windows below, a tall double transomed 2-light window to centre flanked by cross windows all with semi-circular relieving arches over and leaded lights. Centre windows have large terracotta mouldings within the semi-circular arches. Between the gables there is one 3-light window, similar to that below to east and a deep double transomed 2-light stair window above the door. South elevation is similar except two centre bays have 3-light transomed windows above and below. Included for group value only. (with Christ Church, Derby Road)
