Details

BIBURY ABLINGTON SP 1007-1107 10/37 Mill House and Elm Tree Cottage (previously listed as Cottage 23.1.52 opposite the Old Mill occupied by R.J. Adam's, and Cottage adjoining) GV II Two attached houses. Mill House early C19; Elm Tree Cottage later C19, late C20 addition. Coursed rubble limestone; brick and artificial stone chimneys; stone slate and concrete tile roofs. Two-storeys; Elm Tree Cottage forms cross wing at east end. Front: 2-window 12-pane sash fenestration to left part of Mill House, all openings having stone flat arches. C20 casement and C20 door to right in similar openings; 2-light recessed chamfered mullioned casement above, possibly reused from elsewhere. Gable end of Elm Tree Cottage projects forward to right with single- window C20 timber casement fenestration and timber lintels. C20 addition to right is not of special interest. Outshut to rear built into bank.
