Large country house. Late C17 remodelled and enlarged C18; altered in 1903. Roughcast render forming panels on main facades; ashlar quoins and window surrounds; stone slate roof; Central staircase hall with one room laterally, west range of 2 storeys with attic added to C17 cross-passage plan house to form L; service wing to east; 2 small service room wings to north. Main west range has 5-window front with 2 windows at south end side: all cross-windows with recessed chamfer to mullions and transoms; plain projecting drip moulding above ground floor windows; central doorway with moulded stone architrave is an alteration; 3 roof dormers with timber casements, the central dormer being slightly larger; hipped roof. C20 hipped roof single-storey addition at south end. Facing east at back of main range a staircase cross-window; eaves- mounted ashlar chimney and ridge mounted in east wing, both with moulded caps and strings. Three window east wing: all cross- windows at front; 3 roof dormers. At back a C17 2-light recessed chamfered mullioned window with hood moulding; chamfered stone jambs and deep stone lintel to doorway of small back service wing. Main service wing now has cross-windows to match, added in 1903 remodelling. Interior: largely dating from 1903, but stone vaulted cellar survives in C18 west range. One room fully panelled in apple.
