12/68 Mickleton Wood Farmhouse
II
Farmhouse. Late C18/early C19. Flemish bond brick on ashlar
limestone plinth, with rusticated limestone quoins and limestone
eaves cornice. Extensions to left and right, English garden wall
bond. Some original rainwater heads. Grey slate roof with parapet
and flat coping. Single, brick, end stacks with moulded limestone
tops. Main block extended back on left and right to form 'U'.
Additional extensions probably slightly later than main body set
back to left of main body. Main body 2½ storeys 1:1:1 windowed.
Central bay projecting sightly from facade has open triangular
pediment over. 8-pane sashes to upper storey, 16-pane sashes
otherwise. All sashes have rusticated limestone lintels over with
keystones. Central double door up 2 steps with fielded panels and
4-paned light over. Plain ashlar surround with flat projecting
stone hood supported on brackets with simple line decoration.
