Details
CHURCHDOWN SANDFIELD ROAD SO 8819/8919 (east side) 12/25 No 6, (Ye Olde House) II Small house. Probably first half C17, altered and enlarged C19, minor alterations mid-late C20. Random rubble stone, brick-nogged timber-framing, painted brickwork, tiled roof; ribbed tiles to lean-to. 'L' plan, 1½ storeys, one bay each wing; single storey lean-to along one end, 2-storey wing beyond. Facing road: right return stone gable with chimney on ridge; upper part gable rendered. Stone extends part way along front wall: low brick lean-to wrapped round corner. To left, framing 3-panels high, sill below ground level; 2-light casement on ground floor, late C20 gabled dormer over. On left projecting wing; timber-framed right return, blocked window on right, 2-light casement on ground floor; single-pane window replaces doorway, 2-light casement ground floor; late C20 wooden window in gable of lean-to on left. Gable above rendered, only collar shows; 2-light casement, flush barge boards. On left, set back to line of wing parallel to road, chimney from eaves.
