WATTON-AT-STONE HIGH STREET TL 3019 (Northeast side) Watton-at-Stone 9/174 - No. 69 GV II
House, at one time 3 dwellings then a shop. Mid to late C17, extended C18. Refronted and extended in C19. Some timber frame with pargetted rendering and cement roughcast. Refronted, cased and extended in stock brick, part whitewashed. Tiled roof, extended with slate. 3 bays with a later bay to right. Ground floor: entrance to right of centre, to left a C20 tripartite sash, to right a C20 bow window. First floor three 16 pane recessed sashes. Shallow pitch to slate refronting, steeper tile behind. Later bay set back to right has a ground floor C20 bow window, first floor flush frame 3 light casement, pargetting, coved eaves. Separate steeply pitched roof. Right end exposed red brick internal stack, cement render behind to red brick lean-to outshut with a catslide roof, 2 light dormer to rear. Left end is all stock brick with exposed plates and purlins, C20 casements. Parallel C19 block to rear with right gable end stack, hip to left with a stack. Interior: some exposed framing.
