TEWIN UPPER GREEN ROAD TL 21 SE (West side) Lower Green 5/165 Rose and Crown 24.11.66 Public House - II
Public house. C17 cross range incorporated into mid C18 rebuilding, extended and altered C20. Timber frame to early core, rendered. Rebuilt in red brick with burnt headers. Tiled roofs. 5 bay, 2 storey and attic main block with early 2 cell cross range to rear left. Central C20 gabled porch with flanking 3 light leaded pane casements, moulded frames, slightly recessed, slightly cambered heads. Plat band to first floor, 5 two light similar casements with flush frames. Boxed eaves. 2 box dormers of 2 lights over outer bays. Kneelers to gable end parapets. Internal end stacks, that to left with a stock brick addition to rear. C17 building on left side has ground floor brick cladding with a 2 light casement. First floor 4 light small pane flush frame casement. Rear gable end external stack with early base, later capping. C20 lean-to on left end and C20 wing to rear. To rear centre and right on main range a catslide roof over a continuous lean-to outshut, raised to right with 2 casements and tile hanging. Interior: stop chamfered binding beams. First floor not inspected. (RCHM Typescript).
