House. C16 origins. Remodelled early to mid C17. Extended and altered
C19 and C20. Timber frame to core, pargetted rendering and tile hanging.
Whitewashed and rendered brick additions. Tiled roofs. Originally
probably 3 bays, made a lobby entry with a short wing to rear centre,
later gabled additions to rear and to right. 2 storeys. Garden
elevation, early bays all tile hung with renewed brick base. Ground
floor French doors and C20 canted bay window, first floor scattered
lattice casements. C17 central axial ridge stack, multiform and part
rebuilt with an oversailing cap. A C19 bay added to right has a ground
floor lean-to outshut with an entrance in right return. Left gable end
exposed plates. C19 right gable end has mixed casements, cambered head
on first floor. To rear, right bay and projecting gabled wing to centre
have 2 light flush frame leaded casements. Projecting further from left
bay is a C19 double gabled block, rendered with similar casements.
Attached to right end from garden is a 1 storey range linking to former
octagonal well house. Interior: exposed framing with curved passing
tension braces in walling, unusual scarf joint on first floor, posts
moulded on ground floor and jowled above, cambered tie beams, clasped
purlin roof, windbraces. Ovolo moulded stop chamfered axial binding
beams, stop chamfered timber fireplace lintels, some reset C17
