Details

SOUTHROP SOUTHROP VILLAGE SP 1903-2003 14/238 Vine Cottage and Box Bush Cottage (previously Cottage opposite and North West of Yew Tree Cottage 23.1.52 and Cottage adjoining) II Row of 2 houses. Early-mid C18. Random rubble limestone; rendered chimneys; stone slate roof. Single-storey with attic; cross wing at west end. Front: gable end of cross wing projects forward to left with single-window timber casement fenestration, both with timber lintels. Doorway with timber lintel and plank door immediately to right of wing with casement to right; single gabled roof dormer. Continuation of building to right is Vine Cottage with C20 porch to doorway left of 2-window fenestration, casements to ground floor, 2 gabled roof dormers. Two ridge- mounted chimneys. West end: scattered timber casements with timber lintels to cross wing; 3 eaves-mounted gabled roof dormers. Hipped roof outshut to east end. Interiors not inspected.
