around yard immediately north
of Macaroni Farmhouse
GV II
Large barn with cart and shelter sheds running south, and stables.
c1800. Random rubble limestone; stone slate roofs. Large 9-bay
barn runs east to west with 3 porches and outshuts on south side;
2 ranges of cart and shelter sheds around yard; stables facing
west attached at south east corner. Barn: 3 parapet gabled
porches each with plank doors and timber lintel; hipped hood above
each doorway. Outshuts between porches have catslide roofs, that
at west end being open-fronted with central circular stone column.
Two lean-to porches on north side. Part of barn at west end has
been removed, leaving front outshuts and porch; replaced by C20
shelter which is not of special interest. Triangular barn vents;
parapet gabled east end. Shelter sheds: some circular stone
columns replaced. Stables: attached to east shelter shed range.
Two doorways with stone lintels and plank doors. Single and 2-
light recessed chamfered mullioned openings to ground floor. C20
timber stairs to gabled loft doorway with plank door. Interior:
collar and tie-beam barn roof. Barn is subdivided between 2 east
porches. Timber threshing floors.
