Two adjoining cottages, now interconnecting with village shop in No
97. Probably C17. Rubble stone, stone slate roof, 2 brick stacks
and one large stone ridge stack with partial brick flue. Single
range with projecting gabled wing to right, single storey and
attic. Pear Tree Cottage has 2 hipped dormers with twin casements,
2 twin casements on ground floor and central plank door, all with
splayed stone voussoir heads. Letterbox Cottage has one hipped
dormer and 3-light wood casement with renewed timber lintel below
to right, and recessed plank door to left, also with renewed timber
lintel. Projecting gabled wing has 2-light casement with timber
lintel on each floor. Large ridge stack has back-to-back
fireplaces with large timber bressumers, and bread oven in
Letterbox Cottage. Large plain beams also in Letterbox Cottage.
