KEMBLE EWEN SU 09 NW 8/51 Two former stable blocks at Ewen Manor and adjoining wall and gate piers to north-west GV II Two former stable blocks, converted to meeting room and storeroom, and adjoining stone wall and gate piers forming 3 sides of former stable yard to Ewen Manor. Late C18/early C19. Block to east of coursed and dressed stone with hipped stone slate roof, single range of single storey. West side has 4 lunette windows with 2 glazing bars and 5 stable doors, doors all with concrete lintels. Interior converted to single large room with aluminium patio doors along east side. Block to south of coursed rubble stone with quoins, hipped stone slate roof, single range of single storey and attic. Loft gable to left of centre with open wooden stair. Ground floor has one original doorway with timber lintel to left, remainder has long concrete lintel with 4 pairs of large doors, of which one is half-glazed, other a stable door. Coursed stone wall about 1.80m high with flat coping forming west side of stable yard with centrally-placed square gate piers in dressed stone with plat band at wall coping level and projecting square coping with ball finial on shallow pyramidal base.
