Formerly one building, now two. C15, probably altered and extended. Roughly coursed, roughly dressed limestone, stone slate roof, ashlar stacks. 'L'-shaped plan. Far right-hand bay and rear of The Corner House possibly added C17. Gable end of The Corner House projects forwards slightly on left, The Old Forge runs away right of lateral stack. C15 former 3-bay open hall (now subdivided) lit by mullioned and transoms window. The Corner House; 2 storeys, two 3-light C20 casements with leaded panes in gable end, similar lights and projecting stack in left wall. C19 six-panel door with upper 2 panels glazed right of ground floor window. The Old Forge right; 1½ storeys, plinth with moulded capping, 3-light hollow-chamfered stone-mullioned window with transom left of projecting lateral stack, 20 plank door right within wide, part-glazed surround. Half dormer above lit by 2- light steel casement with horizontal glazing bars. Single light with timber lintel right of front door, 3-light steel casement with horizontal glazing bars and timber lintel far right. Similar window to first floor. Stepped gable end coping. Roll-cross saddle and kneelers with trefoil cusping to gable end of The Corner House. Axial and lateral stacks with moulded cappings. Interior: Large stone fireplace with flat-chamfered surround formerly heating open hall, left of mullioned and transomed window (now split into two by partition wall dividing building into 2 halves). Former 3-bay open hall now with upper floor inserted with single bay solar at east end (marked by position of half dormer). Arch-braced trusses, 2 tiers of wind braces. Two bays of former hall visible in The Old Forge, one bay in The Corner house. Curved spine beam to bay right of front door to The Old Forge. Reputed to have been a rest house for pilgrims going to Hailes Abbey in subsequent years variously an Inn, forge and Post Office.
