SU 2199 LECHLADE ST. JOHN'S STREET
(south side)

10/216 Nos 10 and 11

GV II

Pair of cottages, at end of terrace. Early C18. Rubble stone,
slate roof and brick end stacks, both renewed to No 10. Single
front range and rear extensions, 2 storeys. Two windows, 2-light
casements with timber lintels, metal to No 11 and wood to No 10.
One large multi-pane window on ground floor to each cottage with
timber lintels and 2 doors in centre, 4 flush panels to No 11 and 4
deep fielded panels on upper half of No 10, both with chamfered
timber lintels. These two cottages, along with Nos 1 and 2 (q.v.)
at the other end of the terrace, are the least altered of a row
probably mostly dating from late C17 or early C18 which are reputed
to have been tied cottages for the former Lechlade Manor
(demolished).
