DIDMARTON THE STREET ST 8287 (south side) Stable and adjoining former 15/81 barn at the Old Manor Farmhouse II GV
Stable and former barn now a garage. Early C18. Rubble stone with stone slate roof, hipped to stable. L-shape range of 2 storeys. Long stable range running north/south with raking end buttresses on east side and stepped buttress to south corner on west side. Two windows to upper floor on east wall, 2-light wood mullions with internal plank shutters remaining to left and iron stanchions to right, both with additional external slats. Door of 6 panels at north end with plank loft door over. Interior retains wooden feeding rack along east wall, accessible from loft, and wooden manger below, with stone floor and gully. One stall at south end. Access to loft up 12 stone steps on west side, with additional plank door on ground floor to left of steps. Six bays with collar and tie beams and struts to principals. Projecting wing of L has large C20 sliding doors on south side and 2 raking buttresses on north side. Interior mostly altered with inserted ceiling.
