GREAT RISSINGTON GREAT RISSINGTON VILLAGE SP 1917-2017 9/163 The Old Rectory GV II Former rectory, now house. Early C18 extended C19. Coursed squared and dressed limestone. Stone slate roof with ashlar stacks. Rectangular C18 range with C19 extensions at rear. Two storeys and attic lit by two gabled 2-light C20 dormers and two C20 half dormers with raking leaded roofs. South front comprises the original 3-bay entrance front. Two early C18 sash windows to the first floor, one with 24 panes, one with 18 panes. Another 24-pane sash lower left. All sash windows within dressed stone architraves with keystones and with wide glazing bars. Two-light steel casement with leaded panes lower right within a roll-moulded dressed stone surround. Right-hand return is lit by 2 and 3-light casements with similar surrounds. Central, part-glazed door with glazing bars at the top and a single large fielded panel at the bottom within a rusticated surround in the manner of Gibbs. Two- storey canted bay built in ashlar to the left-hand return, lit by 18-pane sashes with wide glazing bars within dressed stone surrounds with keystones. Axial, gable-end and lateral stacks mostly with moulded cappings and skirtings. Interior not inspected.
