BARRINGTON THE GREEN, SP 2012-2112 Little Barrington Village 11/90 Spring Hill Cottage incorporating the Post Office (formerly listed as Nos 71 and 72) 23.1.52 GV II House comprising half of range now partly occupied by the Post Office (q.v.) and a small cottage infilling the row at the left gable end. Main body C17, adjoining cottage C19. Coursed squared and dressed limestone. Stone slate roof with ashlar stack. Rectangular plan to main body with cottage at the left gable end set at an angle to it. Main body; 2 storeys with two 2-light wooden casements to the first floor. Six-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casement with central king mullion to the ground floor. All windows with leaded panes. Stopped hood of window formerly lighting the left gable end visible above the roofline of the adjoining cottage. Moulded plinth. The adjoining cottage is of 2 bays with a 2-light wooden casement with horizontal glazing bars to the first floor. Similar 2-light casement to the ground floor. C20 plank door to the left of the latter. Gable-end stack. Interior not inspected.
