BARRINGTON THE GREEN, SP 2012-2112 Little Barrington Village 11/98 Pair of adjoining barns c4m west of stableblock at Greendrive Farm- 23.1.52 house (formerly listed as a barn with Greendrive Farmhouse) GV II Pair of adjoining barns. Late C18-early C19 possibly in two phases. Coursed squared and dressed limestone. Stone slate roof on the south side, artificial stone slate on the north side. Long rectangular plan stepped down a slope. Two projecting porches on the north side. Lean-to between the porches. Two-storey gabled porch to the lower barn with single-light window in the porch gable, pigeon holes above the window. Low double-width doorway with a cambered-arched head in wall opposite. Single-storey gabled porch to the upper barn, low double doorway with a timber lintel opposite. Single-width doorway to the left of the latter. Interior of the upper barn; 5-bay with the original collar and tie-beam trusses: Lower barn; 5-bays with collar and tie-beam trusses with raking struts. Upper room of projecting porch lined with pigeon holes. Remains of a wattle and daub partition dividing the pigeon loft from the rest of the barn (Barrington Park Estate).
