Pair of estate cottages. Early Cl9. Coursed squared and dressed limestone. Stone slate roof, ashlar stacks; two restored C20. Rectangular plan. C20 flat-roofed extensions at rear not of special interest. Symmetrical facade to each cottage. l½ storeys. Four half dormers to first floor with 2-light stone- mullioned casements. Four 2-light stone-mullioned casements with stopped hoods to ground floor. Two C20, part-glazed doors with flat stone canopies supported on moulded brackets. Similar but blocked door in left gable end. Gable-end and axial stacks. Flat coping at gable ends and to dormers. Interiors not inspected. Coursed squared and dressed limestone wall c2m in height at right angles to gable ends. Wall to right links No 46 to No 47. (Property of the National Trust).
