NORTHLEACH WITH OFF THE MARKET PLACE SP 1114 EASTINGTON (west side), Northleach 8/115 Church Barn (formerly listed as barn adjacent to Rosemary House) 10.9.82 GV II
Barn converted into house in early 1980s. Late C18. Limestone rubble with dressed stone quoins, stone slate roof. C20 stone stacks. Rectangular plan with projecting 2-storey porch on south. French doors to double width opening to gabled porch. Two-light stone-mullioned casement above. C20 plank door within C20 pointed- arched surround left of porch. Tall C20 round-headed window above. Ventilation slit left. C20 two-light window inserted in blocked doorway far left. C20 single-light window above. Similar fenestration right of projecting porch. Double width door on north side with glazing over. Four C20 windows and plank door to ground floor. Blocked single width doorway far right with single width C20 casement inserted in blocking. Four courses of pigeon holes run along entire length of north wall at second floor height, projecting bands above and below. Four small C20 casements inserted at same level as pigeon holes. Three ventilation slits and 5 paired pigeon holes in west gable end. Flat coping and stacks at gable ends. Interior; simple original collar and tie beam roof trusses with carpenter's marks. Upper room of projecting porch lined with finely dressed stone. Two stone-lined niches in side walls of projecting porch on ground floor.
