Details
FRAMPTON-ON-SEVERN THE GREEN SO 7407-7507 (west side) 10/130 Nos 1 and 2 Manor Cottages II Originally probably a small hall house possibly of C15, enlarged to south in C17 to form one larger dwelling, now 2 cottages. To right (No 1), large panel timber-framing with one long diagonal brace, with plastered infill on plinth, apparently raised above original wall plate level, with brick wing to left (No 2). Steep pitch double Roman tile roof, originally thatched, with small brick stacks to end and to left end of original range (now on ridge) above very large stone base. Originally a hall house with service and parlour to right, entered beyond left end stack, extended to left to form L-shape, 2 storeys. Scattered casements to No 1, 2 paired 6-pane casements to No 2 and single 3-light cambered head on ground floor. Passageway in centre leads to original entrance to No 1 behind stack, and to No 2 on left.
