FRAMPTON-ON-SEVERN PERRY WAY SO 7407-7507 (south side) 10/141 Gatepiers and gates to Frampton Court and attached wall between piers (formerly included in The 10,1.55 Green with Frampton Court) II* Gatepiers and gates, and section of wall providing formal entrance to Frampton Court (q.v.) on north east of estate. Probably mid C18, soon after building of house in 1735. Large ashlar rusticated gatepiers with moulded plinth and cornice and large urn finials, with flanking ashlar side pieces also with moulded cornice and small finials, one finial missing to left on inner side. Pair of fine decorative wrought iron gates between. Coped ashlar wall sweeps down for about 2m on both sides to smaller square ashlar pier with moulded plinth and cornice and rusticated round arched niche to front. Walls sweep down again and curve forward as 2 quadrants to smaller version main pier, with cap finials. Height of tallest pair of piers in centre approximately 5m, lowest on outside 2.8m. Length across front, at angle to Perry Way, approximately 20m.
