Details

EASTINGTON SPRING HILL SO 7705 and (east side) 12/80 Stables to Eastington House GV II Stables, incorporating coach house. Probably c1791-1806, contemporary with major alterations to Eastington House (q.v.) for Henry Hicks, partly rebuilt after fire in 1970s. Brick, slate roof with partly asbestos tiles to inner angle, 2 small brick stacks. L-shape range of single storey and loft with brick lean-to in inner angle to north originally in bays now filled in and with corrugated roof. South sides towards house have series of round-headed doors and windows, mostly original, with 2 gabled dormers inserted during rebuilding after fire, adjacent to small eaves dormer over lean-to chicken house on south west face. Stables of south east face have original stalls. Both these sections have probably original brick paviors. Far end of south east face has one double and one single pair of wooden doors across former coach house, now used as garage.
