ARLINGHAM CHURCH ROAD SO 71 SW (west side) 2/8 Hodges Carter Monument, about 14m north-east of north-east chancel buttress in churchyard of Church of St. Mary GV II Railed chest tomb. Richard Hodges Carter, died 1868. Limestone. Stepped tent top with corner antefixae, moulded plinth on base surrounded by tall railed enclosure set into plinth. Deep frieze, angled in and carved in high relief with festoons, ribbons and corner cartouches. Deeply recessed side and end panels, with plain wreath to east, coat of arms to west, and Gothic-lettered inscription to north.
